Respray on MAKs Caravan's 80 Series

Wow, what a build this has been. When Ben from MAKS Caravan Centre contacted me, he wasn't quite sure on what he was after. "Definitely keeping it Red but I need to change something" was right about all he knew.

What kind of red? How sparkly? Do you really want it to be red? How about a two tone?

As you all know, we ended up settling on a two tone. It took a bit of convincing, but I knew it would come out period correct, just a bit mod-spec, and was the change he was wanting. 

This 80 series was no pretty figure on the way in. Plenty of dints, rust in the tailgate, stone chips all the way through the side, you name it. After 2 days of sanding, spot priming, and resanding, she was smooth enough for the first coat of color. We kicked it off with a graphite color that we took from a Toyota Hilux, and then made it darker with some black and diamond mica. It came out fantastically and you could see how blown away Ben was when the clear went down. 

The next day, we painted the red on. Our base was the factory color, but we added some white base, and two types of mica into the paint. It looks super custom, and when the paint went on we knew we'd made the right decision. Clear set this in stone - it looked insane. 

We reassembled and were left with this.
